Laidlaw-Carey Graduate School and Avenues are partnering to sponsor a FREE public lecture called ‘Anabaptist Insights for the Church Today’ – A Roman Catholic Perspective. Peter C Erb, Professor Emeritus of Religion and Culture at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and Associate Director of Schwenkfelder Library, Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, will be presenting this paper. We will host this lecture on Friday, 26 March beginning at 7 pm at our Auckland Campus.
Peter grew up as an Amish Mennonite and is now a noted Roman Catholic scholar. He remains a licensed Mennonite preacher. From 1987-2001, he was Consulting Editor of Mennonite Quarterly Review. He has published extensively on the Radical Reformation. Other publications include: Pietists, Protestants, and Mysticism. (Scarecrow Press) and, more recently Murder, Manners, and Mystery: Reflections on Faith in Contemporary Detective Fiction. (SCM-Canterbury Press).
The lecture will be followed by questions, discussion and supper.
